White Rabbit

"The Queen of Hearts, she made some tarts,
All on a summer day:
The Knave of Hearts, he stole those tarts, And took them quite away!"
I'm so happy to show the first in a series of my designs based on the origional illustrations from Alice in Wonderland. White Rabbit was always a favortie of mine! My version is 10"tall, from the bottom of his bum to the tip of his ear...he's holding an antique pocket watch!
My designs are available for purchase from my home boutique. Feel free to e-mail me @

It's nice to have friends

Yesterday was "just one of those days". You know...the kind where the world just isn't coroperating! Sooo...I took my Moms advice and just poured myself into my art...
that is exactly what I did. Two new designs to follow in the next day or so! As I painted, stitched and glued the little picture my friend Joy...The Vintage Rabbit gave me kept catching my eye. I feel happy everytime I look at it! How could you not?! My pitty -party stopped right there in its track. I'm a very lucky girl to have such a great friend! I didn't even know what a blog was until she told me! Yep, I was that out of the loop!
Well, here I am writing a post! Go figure!
In case I haven't said it lately...thank you Joy!!

Old Town Folsom

This is Old Folsom california...Whenever you find yourself in Northern california, try to stop by this adorable little town! When I first moved here from Southern california, all I could think was Folsom Prison...who knew?! It's maybe 2 blocks long...and the buildings are the real deal.
It's kind of a mish-mash of styles. But if you really pay attention, there are some gems here. Detailed tile work, wood that has been through the best and worst of times! What I like the most about this little town is that there is a pride about the people that run the little shops here. They seem to really love what they do...
You'll find everything from a really great candy /ice cream store called Snooks to gallerys selling art from around the world. Me being me, well I like the shabby-funky-artsy-crafty kind of stores. There are quit a few of these.
Anyway, this is where I spent last friday. I needed a jump start for my year...inspiration!

How lovely!

I thought this was so pretty! It made my day...thank you so very much Graphics Fairy! It reminds me of a stack of Valentines I saw in a antique store last friday...I had a goof off day!
Back to the Valentines cards...they were really old and very delicate. What relly tugged at my heart was the fact they were all from the same man to his wife. His handwriting was really great...he must of really loved her. All the cards I read were signed "Your forever loving husband Cecil". Although it made me sad that these beauitiful cards we sitting in an antique store being looked at by a stranger...I also felt very happy that these two people were so in love! It's really true that if you stop and smell the roses joy can be found in the most unusal places...

The pouting posie

I made this little girl last year...she looks a little bit irritated! Maybe it's the dress?

remember these?

I've always loved dolls! These little girls inspire me still...and they still have their scent! The violet one, especially...

Some of my treasures

The buttons in the jars make me think of the old candy stores...

Where I Create...

I love, love, love the new magazine Where Women Create! It makes me want to work harder, create more and best of all now I don't feel bad about all my treasures being out where I can see them!
My room is on the second story of our home, and has the best view of our pond...and the goose that came with the house! Sometimes when I forget to feed him, he'll stare up at my window...yes, geese can give dirty looks!
I'm so thankful everyday that I've got this little corner in the world that I can design my little creations...

A blast from the past!!

Happy New Year!
January has many challenges...at least for me. I hate how tight my clothes feel (too many Christmas cookies), the weather typically is pretty cold and depressing and putting away all those decorations!
This year was a little different. While trying to squeeze all my ornament boxes into the closet I ran accross a treasure that I'd forgotten
all about.
My Mom and I made this together on summer...decoupage was all the rage at the time!
I carefully selected pictures from my Tigerbeat magazines and was truely proud of the end result, Since it was totally impossible to decide between David Cassidy, Bobby Sherman or Donny Osmond I used the all!!
I'm so glad I found my old friend after all these years!
