Just call me Mother goose!!

I thought it would be fun to share a few pictures of my little family!
This is our goose...he came with the house!
This guy has a pretty great life...free room and board, breakfast delivered daily, and he has many friends that fly in for visits daily!
He's not the most gratefull bird...if we're a little late with the cracked corn, he lets us know!
Geese can give dirty looks!

Our pond

We've got a little pond on the side our our house.
Or should I say a " Bed and breakfast" for birds!
It's a pretty good deal...My husband even delivers room service every morning to the dock!

My Kids

This is Molly and William...my kids!
Molly's the Black Lab-mix, William's a Germain Shorthair Pointer. Molly is the smartest dog...she can say Momma!!
Willy isn't the brightest bulb in the drawer, but he's so cute! And we do love him very much...

William

William has a really nice doggy drinking fountain in the pantry...but sometimes it's more fun to drink from the swimming pool!

A Room with a View !

There's the saying " stop and smell the roses".
Well I have a new one..." stop and look out the window "... I've been working pretty hard trying to design some new pieces...in fact my dogs are not very happy with their Mom! Too much work and not enough playtime!
I had been holding off getting the mail because of all the rain...then it stopped. I looked out my window, and there was the most beauitiful tree ever! Kind of like a beauitiful woman in a ballgown... Spring is on its way!!

Inspiration comes in many ways!!

While I was fixing my lunch the other day, the mermaid on the tuna can caught my eye. I'd been toying with the idea of a collage/three dimension/doll thing... so I started tearing apart my studio, spilling glitter, stumbling over my dogs, etc.
Found a 9x12 canvas and off I went!!
It was so fun...it's one thing to design a doll. But when you create a scene, tell a story it adds so much.
Enjoy!!

Finders Keepers!

I designed this mermaid last year...my friend Laura named her Fey ( after the hurricane ).
This years version is a bit more glamorous!
I found the little blue necklace she's holding at a flea market...I thought it looked like the one from the movie Titantic.
I loved the movie, but seeing beauitiful jewlery go into the sea was hard to take! So...I thought wouldn't it be nice if a lovely mermaid found it?
Finders keepers!!
From the top of her hair to the tip of her tail she's 17"

The Queen of thr Sea

I'm trying to grow out my hair, so I guess that's why all my dolls have had such outragous hairdos these days!
Her hair ornament is an old rhinstone shoe clip!

Peter Rabbit!!

Yesterday it rained and rained...so I painted and glued and stuffed! Made the most awful mess! but, out of my mess came this cute little bunny! He's got the key to my heart... The flowers around his net are from an old hat that I've been stealing from !
Spring is still weeks away, but I'm ready! Life is alot more fun in cute sandals and flowery tops that coats and icky old boots!!

Hope

I guess I've got Spring Fever! Here's the Dove I designed yesterday. It was really fun...She's sitting on a very glittery nest, and the flowers are from an old hat I found at my local antique store. Her name is Hope...
it's funny, the day I came home with the old hat, I tried it on for my husband. You should of seen the fear in his eyes!!

My New Banner!!

I'm so happy to now have a pretty banner! No more "blog-envy" for me...
I found Tiffanyjane on Etsy, but she also has a really cool website...www.beyondthevintagepath.com
Tiffany was a really patient girl dealing with me!
You see...just uploading pictures is a very big step for moi! When I can find someone willing to put up with my questions and not run away as far as possible...I'm happy!
Thanks Tiff !!

The Sacramento Antique Faire

I had a really fun weekend...my husband and I
went to the best flea market! It's held under the freeway close to downtown Sacramento. It was kind of weird at first...I'm glad the cars driving over me stayed on the road! There were vendors from San Francisco to Oregon!
I was on a mission to find treasures to use in my designs...and came home with a great big bag overflowing! That's a good day!
They do this every month on the second sunday.
I'm planning on going back again...and again!!

Treasures!!

My goodness! I LOVE old patterns! I was able to get a giant box full of patterns from the 30's to the 60's! My favorite is for the ice skating skirt and matching underpants!! Hey, you never know when that might come in handy!
I'm going to have sooo much fun with these...
I also found some really cool pocket watches...
some jewlrey and a necklace tha reminds me of the one the old woman threw overboard in the Titanic movie...I'm still mad that she did that!

The big pink house

My husband and I were on our way to meet
friends for lunch when we came accross this estate sale! You don't come by a 10,000 ft. pink
mansion everyday!
At the risk of being late for lunch...well we just had to stop!! How could we not?!
Although I didn't come home with any treasures, it was so fun wondering around this grand old estate. It had it all...from a very Gone with the Wind staircase, a library, and a ballroom-ish dining room! I was only able to get pictures of the bathroom...it was very dark and really crowded. Sorry about that!
I can only imagine what this home was like in the day...

Time stood still

This was really weird...and sort of touching at the same time. Everything in the medicine cabinet was from at least the 60's! I'm old enough to remember "Gel set"! Most of the containers were full! I don't know why this facinated me so much, but it did.
A brand new bottle of Breck shampoo...?

The tub of my dreams

I have a new goal in life...a pink tub!
Isn't this the cuttest darn tub?
Perfect for floating rose petals...don't ya think?

The Queen of France!!

This was one of those times when You finish a project and dance around like a fool! I have to say, Marie turned out just like I wanted her to! Sort of a cross between the painings, movies and fairytales!! It was really fun playing with a combination of really old laces and modern "brides-maidish" fabrics!
This all started when I was looking at a book about Marie Antoinette that had a painting of her in her wedding gown...she was only 14 years old!! Can you imagine!
Anyway, the dress was breathtaking!! So totally over the top!!
I started sketching...and wa la!!
If anyone has any interest in my designs...you can e-mail me at jsncrafts@surewest.net

I had the best time with maries hair...and the glue gun burn to show for it!! My goose donated one of his feathers for her hair decoration...

Oh la la!!

Au Revoir...
