Alice in Wonderland

I love Alice !! When I was a little girl, she really wasn't my favorite...I was always more of a Cinderella gal.
But for some reason now that I'm 40ishhhhh, Alice is my favorite...and Tink of course!!
Several months ago I got the idea of doing a series of designs based on the origional drawings.
White rabbit turned out better than I could of imagined...Alice was hard. I'll admit that.
She's a child...but there is alot more to he. You can see it in the artists drawings of her...
Well folks, here's my version.
I hope you enjoy her!!

Sweet Alice

I've been working hard on the second design
in my Alice in Wonderland series. I think it's good to take a brake from what you're working on so you can return with "fresh" eyes...if you know what I mean!
So, I made this little box. It's just little bits and pieces of things I refuse to get rid of.
It was a really fun adventure...

Oh My!!

Just a frightening reminder...it's getting to " that" time of year!
I went bathing suit shopping last week and all I've got to say is whoever makes the mirrors in dressing rooms is a very un-kind person!
Where are those darn airbrush people when you need them?!

True Love!

Here in Northern California I'm surrounded by alot of different types of birds...it's pretty awsome.
We've got geese, wild turkeys, woodpeckers, just to name a few.
My favorite of all are the doves. For alot of reasons...I love the fact that they mate for life! The little sound they make is so sweet, and their faces! How beauitiful!
Another reason they are so special to me is that my Grandmother loved them as well. I remember she had a pair of ceramic doves on her little end table. Next to the doves there was almost always a small flower arrangement...she was really good at that. To this day when I see a pair of doves, I think of those ceramic ones of my Grandmas. It's a good thing!!
I've been trying to come up with new and different designs lately...which is why there weren't many posts from yours truely. Too busy pulling my hair out!!!
Anyway, back to the doves. I designed Miss Bling out of wool, then painted her. The flowers and jewels are vintage...She seems quite pleased with her diamond necklace!

ps
I haven't mentioned this in a while, but if anyone is interested I do sell my designs...and take paypal as well !!

My new mermaid!

I made a pincushion! Very vintage!

Hello Little Birdies!

I've been trying to come up with ideas for pieces that not only look really cute but can serve a purpose.
I got inspired by Martha Stewert and her glitter! I have such respect for those of you out there that glitter all the time!! I made a mess that I'll probably dealing with for a long time! I'm still very glittery...looks kind of funny in the grocery store!
Anyway, what I came up with are these little birdies. You can clip them on just about anything... I hope you enjoy them!!

Where I create...re-visited

Awhile aga I did a post about my studio. Being inspired by one of my favorite magazines...Where Women Create...
So, I dusted, arranged and generally made everything really cute!
That was then...
This is what I woke up to this morning...yesterdays coffee cup ( I love tink!!), a mermaid minus a body, the poor dove is looking at her wings, and a general mess of glitter and paint!
This is really where I create!!
More on what comes from out of all of this later!
