Another Re-Do

I just can't leave my mermaid design alone...it always bugged me that she was a little hard to display.
So this time I came up with a Mermaid-ish chair !
Why didn't I think of this before??

Then instead of looking for the right fabric for her body, I painted the fabric with acrylics/ textile medium...very fun.

One last discovery...I see much better without my contacts on when I'm doing work up close!
This a new development...could be because my " BIG" birthday is this Fall !! Yuk!!!!!

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with this gals face, if I do say so myself!

Hope ya like her!!

She's Back!!!

Something New!

I want to make more with the " Sea Life" theme.

I love cuffs so I thought it would be fun to make one from wool...blending felting, beading and maybe a real starfish or two!

It's not done yet, but here's a little peek!

" Under the Sea" ...a work in progress

What I've been up to...

For the past week I've been my husbands " plus one" on a yearly business trip to Washington DC.
This was our fourth time there, it's always a wonderful time !
Just thought I'd share a few highlights...one being a trip to one of the newer museums, The Newseum. Fabulous place !! It had everything from a section of the Berlin Wall to Lisa Marie Presleys fur coat she had as a baby!! Very cool!!

Now it's time get out the sketch pad and create something lovely!!!

The Monuments are even more beauitiful at night...

Is Less really More?

I started this bag a while ago...I thought it would be good to design something simple and elegant...less is more. Didn't work out that way...
I guess it's just not in my nature!! Color makes me happy.

It was really fun layering the vintage hankies, but honestly the best part was stitching with double-eyed needles!!
The effect is subtle, but really pretty.

Tootle-lo !!
