I was looking through my sketchbook last week and found some of my old mermaid designs.
These were meant to be dolls, but since I've been a "stitchey" kind of mood a small wall hanging seemed like a fun idea ! I drew her freehand then colored, stitched and beaded.
These kind of projects are so fun...there is never a real plan. I just let my mind wander.

A really dear friend of ours turned 70 last weekend...this was a party we didn't want to miss! So off we went down to San Diego energy drinks in hand ! It was held at the La Fayette Hotel ...
it's been recently renovated an I must say it was breathtaking. This little room was for afternoon tea and evening cocktails...don't you love the parasols on the ceiling? Cute!
A great time was had by all at the party !!!
On the way home Disneyland was calling our name...and we answered!
Cars Land was awesome ...crowded, but worth it.

We were really impressed. Just like Walt Disney said, the park will never be done. This new addition is going to be so popular. They managed to make you feel like you're part of the movie.
Loved this flower bed!!! The centers are tail lights!
I loved the Cozy Cone motel in the movie. They did a great job re-creating it for the park...it looked great at night! Oh and by the way, even the drinks are served in traffic cones! Really cute!

Boy, Summer is flying by!! We just got back from a little get away to Lake Tahoe...nice to escape the heat !!
Since it's just to stinking hot to go out I've been doing some stitching. Catching up on all my shows and lounging around with projects isn't so bad...
