Hello Spring !!

I got this pink birdcage ages ago. It's just to pretty to use outside, so I've always kept it in my sewing room.
Feeling the hint of Spring in the air, I decided to redecorate !
I mixed vintage sewing items, birdies, and my dear little bug-girl!
I love her...and I think she loves her new house!

Barbie's 50!!!

Barbie recently turned 50...and so did my husband !!
John doesn't wear bell-bottom cords, have long hair or surf much anymore...but Barbie has not changed at all! At least MY Barbies haven't. They're still wearing the same clothes from the late 60's and 70's!!
I loved my Barbies !
Unlike my brothers GI Joes that eventually ended up naked in the backyard, I took really good care of them!
I'd organize the little outfits...remember the tiny hangers? Put all of the shoes in order, and make sure their hair was always perfect!
Francie with growing hair was my favorite. She's the one in the red velvet coat and fur trimmed boots!
Happy Birthday Barbie!

Don't forget to wear green!!

For some reason, Saint Patricks Day was a really big deal for me when I was a little girl. I would be so nervous that my outfit wasn't green enough ! I'd practically not be able to sleep the night before...
Well, now that I'm all grown up I've got this situation totally under control ! Plenty of green in my closet!
Have a wonderful day...and try to not get pinched!

Christmas in March!

My girlfriend Joy and I may have started a new tradition...Christmas in February and March!
She got her gifts from me last month, I got mine last week!
Check out the too cute ruffled apron! I love it!! The colors are perfect!
And it goes on... she sent me the best vintage costume book. I can tell that alot of new designs are going to be inspired by those pages! Ialso got the cutest "bliss" magnet, lipstick pen and a pink paisley oilcloth tote! I'll go to the flea markets in style, for sure!

Thank you soooo much dear friend!!

The Birds!

I was in the mood to make birds the other day... the nests are decorated with flowers from old hats! It's easy to go nuts with glitter. I'm afraid my dogs even got a bit " glittered"!

My Day!

This is where I'm planning on spending some of my day...I never thought I'd say this but I'm actually looking forward to pulling weeds!
This little spot is behind our barn. It's not a big garden, but gives me enough flowers for a pretty arrangement every once in awhile. As much as I love flowers, I don't consider myself a great gardener. I just plant things ! Sometimes they grow...sometimes not!
It's the coolest feeling when you start to see the bulbs pokeing their heads out of the ground, don't you think? I really love that!
Have a lovely day!!!
