I'm going to take a few days to hang out with
some dear friends...have a few Mai Tais, eat way more
than I should...maybe even finish one of the many books
that I started at the beginning of Summer!
Have a good rest of the week!!

true love
I just finished this custom order for a
Bride...she's going to use this as a
decoration at her wedding.
She wanted gold incorperated, so I
added touches on their wings and tails.
The little hearts around their necks really
made my day...they actually open!
I'm delivering this today...
I hope she likes it!!

This weeks recipe...Tortellini with pesto & pine nuts
I thought this would be a nice weekend
recipe to share... enjoy!
Prepare 1 lb. fresh tortellini according to
package.
When pasta cools down add 1/2 cup sundried
tomatoes, packed in oil (sliced)
1/2 cup pesto, fresh is always better
but store bought works well for this reecipe
1/4 cup pine nuts
Toss to combine ingredients, adding
a generous amount of fresh
parmesan cheese
Adjust to taste, adding a bit more pesto
if needed.
To serve I like to sprinkle a bit more
cheese over the top and add a few
more pine nuts.
Have a great weekend !

Blogging for Bliss!!
I've been reading about this new book
for quite some time...well I finally got my
copy the other day. It's really great!
I'll admit...I'm still so in the dark when
it comes to all the technical details with
blogging. When I finally could upload
a picture I practically cracked open a
bottle of champagne!! Don't laugh!
So, a book like this may just be my ticket
out of the dark hole!
Stay posted...maybe I'll shock
you all yet!

I'm going to be teaching !!
I'm very happy to announce that October 20th
I'll be going down to Southern California to
teach a Santa class!!
It'll be at a store I used to work at called
The Country loft, www.cloft.com
I really loved working there !
I'm so happy they let me still teach once in a while. Santa classes are very fun to do...
He's about 14" tall...dresses in wool.
His little helper is about 6" .
I've done many versions of Santa, but it seemed like the year to go back to what I remember
as a little girl...
So, if anyone is interested in learning how to make this jolly fellow contact The Country Loft
and they'll fill you in on the details.
I'm planning on listing various holiday items
on my Etsy starting in September...

You probably don't know this about me...
I LOVE to cook!
I'm always being asked for recipes...
Probably because I tend to keep things
simple. Don't you hate it when it takes 3 trips
to 3 stores to find the ingredients for a recipe?
I do!!!
Well, a dear friend said I should start
posting my recipes...so here you are!
I'm going to do this once a week.
My goal is to keep it simple...
inexpensive and fun!
I hope you all will enjoy my recipes!!!!
This tome of year tomatoes are everywhere...
and they need to be used!
This is one of my favorites!
Jennifers Salsa
Combine:
1-8oz can tomatoe sauce,
2 med tomatoes chopped
1/2 onion, chopped
1/4 bunch cilantro, chopped
1 serrano chile chopped
1 jalpeno chile chopped
1/2 tea sea salt
1 tsp garlic salt
2 cloves garlic, pressed
a pinch sugar
a few shakes hot sauce
Blend ingredients in a bowl and cover.
Refrigerate covered at least 3 hours...
taste at 1 1/2 hours...
adjust with hot sauce...
Be sure to wear plastic gloves when chopping chiles!!!
If you aren't into hot things...use only half the seeds!
This will keep for at least 3 to 4 days
Enjoy!!!!

Blog Benefits!!
The last thing I thought about when i started
blogging was that I'd make friends...
the whole world of the internet seemed a bit
scarry to me!
I was one of those gals that was pretty proud
to say they were computer free!!
Well...I've changed and I'm glad!
This has opened doors for me, opened my mind, and yes, I've made some friends in the process!
One in particular...and most dear is Laura.
She is known to you all as Verbena Nested Treasures.
She was the first to notice my work and support
my little business...and me!
The other day, I got the most dear little care package from her...
a couple of flower broaches and some rosebud salve...perfect since I told her I am always biting
my lips!
It was sooooo nice and out of the blue!
I'm so happy to have joined this wonderful sisterhood of creative women...
Thanks Laura!!!! I LOVE my treasures!!!!

Sundays flea market adventure
I made it out to the Sacramento flea
Sunday.
Here's some of the treasures that made it home with me...
I especially love the little lady in the red dress!
She's so tiny! Poor girl is in need of a new dress
though!
It was a fun day. There is something about
a bunch of new " this n'thats"...
It's gets the brain going!

Hummingbird happy-hour
This was sooo funny! Last night my husband
was helping me re-fill and hang our
himmingbird feeders. Well, the little guys
were going nuts!
They were hovering right in front of us...
As my husband went to hang one of the
feeders a little guy just made himself at home!!
So he decided to just stand there...
the hummingbirds loved it! Who knows,
maybe they thought it was funny!
Pardon the blurry picture! I was
laughing sooo hard!

A Dollmakers Journey
I never really know what I'm doing until
it's done.
What I mean is regardless of how clear my
origional vision is, the end result can
easily be something totally different.
Like yesterday, this doll started out
as Marie Antoinette...
then my mind started to wander.
last weekend my husband and I went out
to dinner. Like most peopl e these days, we
don't go out that often. I was so sad
to see how many of our favorite little
places were out of business!!
Then yesterday running errands, I started counting all the little places around town
with signs saying " everything must go"
Needless to say, I came home with a
very clear idea...
I think we could ALL use a
Fairy Godmother these days!! It was almost
like she designed herself...I just did as she
asked.
I'm looking forward to better days
for all...
